If we could balance this with a ban on talking about babies and other people's children, this is a fine idea.

Agreed on both counts.

From now on discussions on LI, X Factor, IAC, The masked singer that last 1+ minute I will stand up, sigh and look out of the window whistfully until they are concluded.

This will show how isolated I feel.

what happens if you work at a football club?

I think offices should ban all conversations about: weddings, kittens; shoes, babies

It just encourages girlie behaviour.

Re: Please dont talk about football at work
Currently, I don't even talk about (professional) football when I meet up to play football.

Re: Please dont talk about football at work
The less talk about West Ham suits me down to the ground to be fair.

If we can ban Love Island too that'll be welcome. Sadly, unlikely to be implemented in my office where the CFO dedicated 5 minutes of her speech talking about it in our Finance huddle yesterday! 🙄

Re: Please dont talk about football at work
The person who came up with this goes by the name of Anne Frank

For fucks sake, this world get more surreal by the minute...I'm sure the media just have a massive mainframe which auto-generates shit from the massive amount of data.

A bit like when Championship Manager used to generate player names like Pancho Zola after you got past the 10th season or something...

Always good to engage people in their hobbies:

Why do you like Love Island? It's SHIT

What on earth is The masked singer about? do I need to be lobotomised to enjoy it? Like you?

Caring is sharing.

Re: Please dont talk about football at work
Branded, mate.

No idea, she really just seemed interested in the football, and had every reason to enjoy that game, obviously.

Some people are not obsessed with how boring other people are or aren't.

You may have a point, I remember reading that when Buzzfeed and a few other sites had mass redundancies some of the senior staff were taken on by the beeb etc to help with website content.

Part of it is them trying to copying the traits of a clickbait world to justify their existence.

But as you point out they are getting funded already, so they should work on being a credible (boring even) news source like they have previously been.

Re: Please dont talk about football at work
Fairly sexist of the woman.

My wife and I am have a friend (she works with my wife in a office setting)

Oxford United season ticket holder, went up to Newcastle this weekend for their cup game, got me into our game with them (we are still friends - barely) and runs their office fantasy football.

Not sure she feels that left out.
